What is the date you need to remember or is important for compliance purpose ?

DATE OF INCORPORATION (DOI)

Is important because based on date of incorporation you can decide financial year end .

Example : DOI is 23 June 2022

12 months later will be 30 May 2023 which will be your 1st financial year end

FINANCIAL YEAR END DATE

Financial year end also known as accounting year end . Is refer to when company close their account . June and December is the popular month .

Is important because financial year end is the date to determine when the Annual General Meeting (AGM ) should held .

According to Companies Act : AGM should be conducting within 6 months from the financial year end date

Example : financial year ended 30 June 2022 ,AGM’s due date will be 30 December 2022

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) DUE DATE

AGM is required to conduct annually . A copy of report ( audited / unaudited) will be present in AGM and this when the shareholder to question about company future , strategic and planing .

Is important because company is required to file Annual Return after 1 month from the AGM date

ESTIMATE CHARGEABLE INCOME (ECI) DUE DATE

All company is required to file ECI within 3 months from the financial year end (FYE) date.

Example : FYE is 31 December then you must file ECI by March next year

All Singapore registered company is required to declare Company income via corporate tax filing on every November .

Example : FYE is 2022 and you are required to file Corporate tax on next year November 2023 .
